Sanitary and Storm Sewer System Flushing Underway

Residents are advised that flushing of the sanitary and storm sewer system in certain areas has begun and may last until April 12, 2024. 

The areas affected include areas north of Queen Street and Ottawa Street, and the Island in Almonte.  The stormwater sewers in Appleton will also be affected by this work.

Municipal Office Closures - Good Friday and Easter Monday

The Mississippi Mills Municipal Office, will be closed Good Friday (Friday, March 29) and Monday, April 1 for Easter.

The Municipality's Building and Planning and Recreation and Culture Departments at Almonte Old Town Hall will also be closed on these days. 

Offices will re-open on Tuesday, April 2 at 8:30 a.m.

For your convenience,  there is a mail slot located to the left of the Municipal Office entrance (3131 Old Perth Road) to drop off payments and other documents.

Changes to Garbage & Recycling Schedule - Good Friday

Please be advised that if your regular garbage/recycling collection is Fridays, this week it will be collected on Saturday, March 30 due to Good Friday.

Also, a second container may be placed out for pickup at curbside without a bag tag affixed to it, during collections taking place the week immediately following Easter Monday.
