Union Street North Rehabilitation Project Anticipated to Begin May 21

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills will soon begin the rehabilitation project for Union Street North, from Carss Street to Main Street East. Construction is anticipated to begin on May 21, 2024 and conclude in the fall.
R.W. Tomlinson Limited was awarded the $4,892,022.56 contract by Council during the April 23, 2024 meeting. This project was identified in the 2018 Water and Wastewater Master Plan as necessary to support future development in the Town of Almonte.

RV Disposal Station Opens for Season May 15

The RV Disposal Station is set to open for the season on May 15, 2024.
The station is located at 482 Almonte Street at the corner of the municipal garage, between the fire hall and the Almonte Civitan Club. It provides residents and visitors to Mississippi Mills with a more convenient option for disposal of holding tank waste for mobile campers and recreational vehicles.
All services are offered free of charge, but all users must complete survey forms provided at the site.

Hydro One Planned Power Outage – Thursday, May 9

Hydro One has a planned power outage scheduled for Thursday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to noon.
It will affect approximately 619 customers, including some residents of Almonte, Clayton and Ramsay, as well as Darling and Lanark.
The reason for the outage is to replace hydro poles.
Please exercise caution during power outages. Stay clear of downed power lines and if traffic lights aren’t working, treat intersections as all-way stops.
