On behalf of the Municipality of Mississippi Mills, I would like to extend my appreciation to all members of the Mississippi Mills Fire Department (MMFD) for their response to multiple calls over the last days. From speaking with Chief Williams, I understand that the MMFD performed their duties efficiently and professionally, ensuring that all firefighters and residents were kept safe.

On April 2, the Mississippi Mills Fire Department responded to multiple grass and exterior fires within the Municipality.
No firefighters were injured in response to these fires. An active fire scene is a stressful environment for our firefighters, families of firefighters, and those affected by these incidents. I would like to remind the public of the importance of refraining from commenting or sharing rumours during emergency situations.
